Process Optimization Engineer

Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) is seeking a highly skilled Steam Plant Optimization Engineer to join our team. As a member of our North America Engineering and Technology Center, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing utility improvement strategies and technologies across all campus functions.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and support ADM safety policies and procedures.
- Develop and coordinate utility technology, strategy, and coordination.
- Maintain ownership of energy balance models for utility-scale cogeneration of electricity and steam.
- Provide engineering leadership to resolve complex problems and improve system efficiency.
- Support and drive progress on ADM's Sustainability and Conservation Goals.
- Perform as Utilities SME (Subject Matter Expert) as part of a capital project development and design review team.
- Generate equipment specifications and research modern technologies to improve efficiency and optimization.
- Evaluate system/equipment failures and collaborate to determine root cause.
- Perform field work, facilitating and directing internal company and contracted personnel.
- Coordinate and collaborate with multiple disciplines and various levels of management.
- Provide technical support and training to others when necessary.
- Update and document FEL (Front End Loading) process and SOP/Guidelines.
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
- 2+ years of related experience.
- Strong safety knowledge and understanding of Cogen/Boiler house and utility operations.
- Ability to explain and drive compliance with SOP's and safe work practices.
- Ability to explain and drive compliance with all jurisdictional code requirements.
- Ability to recognize, assess, and provide opportunities for energy efficiency and optimization.
- Full understanding of the principles of operation of water treatment, combustion, electrical generation and distribution, cooling tower, and compressed air.
- Ability to interpret flow diagrams and P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram).
