As a division of ITW, a Fortune 200 entity, we are looking for skilled individuals to join our team as an Electromechanical Engineering Technician. This role is pivotal in our engineering operations, contributing to the design and testing of innovative products.
Primary Duties
- Fabricate and assemble electro-mechanical systems for testing and calibration purposes.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot prototypes, gathering data and analyzing performance metrics.
- Interpret and work with electronic and mechanical schematics, as well as flow diagrams.
- Design and document test fixtures to support product development.
- Create manufacturing work instructions and provide training to operators, including conducting assembly time studies.
- Utilize 3D printing technology for prototype development and coordinate with machine shops for metal fabrication.
- Conduct inspections of fabricated components using various measurement tools.
- Manage firmware updates and device configurations using internal tools.
- Engage in broad assignments that require innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the company.
- Maintain regular attendance and perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
- Proficient in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks; familiarity with LabVIEW is advantageous.
- Experience in prototyping and assembling electro-mechanical devices.
- Skilled in troubleshooting electro-mechanical assemblies using testing equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate various laboratory equipment.
- Basic knowledge of flow dynamics, pressure systems, and electrical circuits.
- Competent in soldering surface mount components and fabricating cable assemblies.
- Experience in assembling piping systems and wiring for instrumentation.
- Computer literacy in networking and data acquisition systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (or 4 years with a High School Diploma).
- A High School Diploma or Technical Associate's degree is required.
