The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Supervisor to join our team. As a Pharmacy Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our pharmacy department, ensuring that all medications are dispensed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and manage a team of pharmacists and technicians to ensure that all medications are dispensed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to improve patient care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care.
- Monitor and analyze pharmacy operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure that medications are available in a timely manner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure that patient care is safe and effective.
- Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- At least one year of experience as a pharmacist in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
The Pharmacy Supervisor will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The position requires excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team.
