Main Responsibilities

  • Installation of Plumbing Systems: The successful candidate will be responsible for installing plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, fittings, and appliances such as sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, and drainage systems. They must follow blueprints, building codes, and specifications to ensure proper installation.
  • Reading Blueprints and Plans: The Construction Plumber must interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and configuration of plumbing systems in a building. They must understand the design requirements and ensure that installations comply with local building codes and regulations.
  • Pipefitting and Welding: The candidate will cut, thread, bend, and assemble pipes using various tools and equipment. In some cases, they may need to weld pipes together using welding techniques such as soldering, brazing, or welding.
  • Testing and Inspecting Systems: The Construction Plumber conducts tests to ensure that newly installed plumbing systems function properly. They may perform pressure tests to check for leaks and inspect systems for compliance with quality standards and regulations.
  • Maintenance and Repair: The successful candidate is responsible for maintaining and repairing plumbing systems in existing buildings. This may involve troubleshooting problems, replacing worn-out components, and performing preventive maintenance to prevent future issues.
  • Collaboration with Other Trades: The Construction Plumber often works closely with other construction professionals, such as electricians, HVAC technicians, and carpenters, to coordinate the installation of various building systems. Effective communication and collaboration are essential to ensure smooth project progress.
  • Compliance with Safety Regulations: The candidate must adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. This includes using personal protective equipment (PPE), following safety procedures, and identifying potential hazards on the job site.

Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per year
