Bookkeeper Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team at Crawford Thomas Recruiting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger bookkeeping, with a focus on using QuickBooks for managing client accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • QuickBooks Setup and Management:
    • Set up QuickBooks accounts for clients, including linking bank and credit card accounts to automate transaction downloads.
    • Maintain and update QuickBooks for clients, ensuring all transactions are accurately classified.
  • General Ledger Bookkeeping:
    • Manage the general ledger for multiple clients, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions.
    • Perform regular reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare accurate balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
    • Provide detailed and timely financial statements to clients, helping them understand their financial health.
  • Full-Service Bookkeeping:
    • Handle all aspects of bookkeeping for clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and sales tax filings when needed.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping, with a deep understanding of accounting principles.
  • QuickBooks Expertise: Proficiency in QuickBooks, including setting up accounts, classifying transactions, and performing reconciliations.
  • Accounting Skills: Strong knowledge of balance sheets, income statements, and general ledger management.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy in financial data and spot discrepancies or errors.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to interact with clients and provide clear financial insights.
