JOB SUMMARY:
In this role, you will be responsible for operating various cranes to transport heavy machinery and materials between designated locations. You will ensure that all operational lifts are meticulously planned, equipment is thoroughly inspected, and safety protocols are strictly followed. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate various cranes to transport equipment and materials.
- Plan and execute operational lifts.
- Conduct equipment inspections and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Follow signal directions from a signaler during operations.
- Assess operational areas for safety concerns and necessary procedures.
- Operate lifts for roof access, utilizing harnesses when required.
- Assist in loading completed units onto transport vehicles using appropriate rigging techniques.
- Maintain constant communication with the ground crew.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Current National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) credentials for the relevant crane type.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Crane Operator (assistance with final certification available).
- Experience operating various cranes, including 90 and 120-ton telescopic boom swing cab cranes.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle records check.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Proficient in hand signals.
- Willingness to assist with other duties when not operating a crane.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Reliable, accountable, and consistent in completing administrative tasks such as equipment inspection documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and a robust work ethic.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and hearing protection.
- Knowledge of job site safety and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Dependable attendance and a respectful, responsible attitude at work.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong communication skills and awareness of surroundings during movement.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining composure.
- Capacity to maintain a safe perimeter and effectively signal the crane operator.
- Forklift operation skills.
- Good mathematical skills and ability to read a tape measure.
- Capability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
