Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for developing and advancing ceramic processing technologies critical to our client's aerospace products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new ceramic processing techniques to improve product performance and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of ceramic materials into aerospace products.
  • Conduct research and development to mature breakthrough technologies to TRL6, aligned to the Space, Mechanical Systems & Components, and Engines & Power Systems strategic plan and roadmap.
  • Provide technical expertise on various projects and programs, supporting knowledge transfer and troubleshooting for development teams.
  • Support the Program Manager in executing a yearly budget and ensuring project deliverables are met.
  • Develop requirements for and test methods to validate technologies/prototypes/products.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: MS or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on research experience, including scale-up and manufacturing requirements.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in ceramic processing techniques and materials analysis (ceramics, composites, and metals).
  • Experience with building and customizing lab instrumentation/equipment.
  • Experience developing new products or technology in a highly regulated environment.
  • Leadership and Interpersonal Skills:
  • Ability to confidently and effectively communicate ideas with audiences at varying levels of technical depth.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex and challenging problems.
