Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Vascular Technologist to join our team at Ascension. As a Vascular Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures to detect peripheral vascular disease or obstructions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients for the presence of peripheral vascular disease by selecting the most effective procedures within regulatory and compliance guidelines.
  • Perform appropriate diagnostic procedures, record patient test results, and report results to physicians.
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and verify all equipment is in proper working condition; report deficiencies and failures.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage areas, and other areas in the department.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following certifications required:
    • Cardiographic Tech specializing in Vascular Interpretation credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
    • Sonography Tech specializing in Vascular Sonography credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
