Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our facility, employees, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screening and Access Control: Effectively screen all employees and visitors entering the facility, ensuring compliance with security procedures and policies.
  • Security Operations: Monitor access control and video management systems, perform regular patrols of the property, and report any safety or security concerns to the Security Operations Center.
  • Emergency Response: Perform all emergency procedures, including fire control and building safety measures, and be familiar with the operations of the fire control panel.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit reports to management staff, including incident reports, daily shift logs, and department audits.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with fellow officers, ensure all outstanding issues are resolved, and manage several calendars daily, including emails.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Background Check: Successful background check required.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to write reports and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and common software applications.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to frequently walk/stand for long periods, lift/carry/push 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Security Experience: Six months or more in a security-related field.
  • Military or Law Enforcement Background: Prior military or law enforcement experience preferred.
