Job Summary

The Davis Technical College seeks a highly qualified Vice President of Instruction and Student Success to provide executive-level leadership for the Instruction and Student Success Division. This position oversees the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional programs and student services, ensuring they are in alignment with the College's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership for the Instruction and Student Success Division, overseeing budget approvals, annual program modifications, new program development, strategic enrollment planning, and student access initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for instructional innovation and student success, ensuring alignment with industry trends, accreditation requirements, and best practices for student support.
  • Advocate for student success, technical education, and program accountability, collaborating with local education agencies and service area communities to drive student recruitment, retention, and graduation.
  • Supervise and support Associate Vice Presidents, Directors, faculty, and staff across the division and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including Title IX, civil rights, accreditation requirements, etc.
  • Lead all areas within the division and work across campus to enhance student experiences and operational efficiency.
  • Establish, evaluate, and maintain public and private sector partnerships to support instructional programs and funding initiatives.
  • Monitor student enrollment trends, admissions, and satisfaction metrics, implementing improvements where necessary.
  • Lead the College's involvement in state and national conversations on higher education, student affairs, and related topics.
  • Assume responsibilities in the absence of the College President and manage performance evaluations, grievances, and staff development processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to advance the mission of the College.
  • Provide reports and support to the College Board of Trustees in meeting its responsibilities.
  • Represent the College on community boards, state councils, and internal committees.
  • Facilitate a positive, respectful, and inclusive working environment.
  • Continuously develop leadership, staying current through professional reading, training, and external engagement.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from a nationally or regionally accredited university with ten years of related work experience; or a doctorate degree from an accredited institution in educational leadership, higher education administration, technology education, or a closely related field with at least seven years of full-time paid work experience.
  • Occupational experience must include senior educational leadership.
  • Capacity for high-level strategy development and execution.
  • Expertise in process improvement and project management with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to provide high-level customer service to students and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative work and communication style with the ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
