Purchasing and Inventory Manager

Mac Properties is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to fill the role of Purchasing and Inventory Manager. This hybrid position combines responsibilities related to procurement and inventory management to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of our supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchasing: Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to secure quality goods and services at optimal prices. Identify reliable suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term relationships to ensure a stable supply chain. Evaluate supplier performance regularly and implement improvements where necessary. Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and product availability to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee and maintain accurate inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess stock. Implement and optimize inventory control procedures to reduce carrying costs and prevent stock outs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and plan inventory levels accordingly. Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and address discrepancies promptly.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategies to improve overall supply chain efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and responsiveness. Analyze data and metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings. Collaborate with key stakeholders to align purchasing and inventory goals with overall business objectives.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with sales, production, and finance teams to understand their requirements and align procurement and inventory strategies accordingly. Communicate effectively with suppliers to convey expectations, negotiate terms, and resolve any issues that may arise. Provide regular updates to leadership on purchasing and inventory performance, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies in all procurement and inventory activities. Identify and mitigate potential risks related to supply chain disruptions, pricing fluctuations, and other external factors.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in both purchasing and inventory management roles.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce a plus.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in supply chain management.
