Job Responsibilities

As a Career Services Coordinator at Rochester Institute of Technology, you will provide direct career development, career success, and experiential learning direction and support to students and alumni in assigned academic programs. Your primary focus will be on advising and counseling students and alumni in assigned academic areas of Engineering, Engineering Technology, and Computing, regarding career plans and prospective employment on an individual basis. You will also develop and deliver customized instruction on job search strategies, career trends and issues, and workplace success through classes, seminars, workshops, and presentations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise and counsel students and alumni in assigned academic areas of Engineering, Engineering Technology, and Computing, regarding career plans and prospective employment.
  • Develop and deliver customized instruction on job search strategies, career trends and issues, and workplace success.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with students and alumni regarding employment opportunities, instructional program/services offerings, employer recruiting events, and important career trend information.
  • Collaborate with faculty and administrators in assigned academic units to ensure services and support to students is being effectively provided.
  • Serve as account manager to assigned employer representatives to ensure positive and effective university and employer recruiting and hiring partnerships.
  • Market students, academic programs, and both university and office programs and services to prospective employing organizations to identify employment opportunities, establish new employer recruiting partnerships, and support related university corporate outreach and partnership goals.
  • Partner with other RIT units and participate in related programs and activities to support university initiatives in admissions, alumni relations, global partnerships, research development, and institutional fundraising.
