We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Butterball, LLC. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our turkey processing facility.
Key Responsibilities- Apply knowledge of engineering principles to install, conduct routine preventive maintenance on complex industrial production machinery, analyze performance results, repair, and maintain such machinery and equipment.
- Monitor equipment, diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform timely repairs, routine and preventive maintenance on various mechanical equipment in the facility.
- Proficiently use a variety of common hand and power tools and precision instruments required for the maintenance of the facility's equipment and machinery.
- Interpret work orders and specifications to determine if machines and equipment require replacement, repair, or general maintenance.
- Carry out routine inspections of equipment and systems; inspect and perform maintenance and engineering tasks and actions following established standard operating procedures and checklists.
- Recognize, diagnose mechanical problems, and determine corrective action by interpreting complex blueprints, piping, sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Develop a general understanding of the mechanical systems required to operate the facility.
- Follow and adhere to food and workplace safety policies and procedures established by Butterball, LLC.
- Communicate, at a high level, with plant operations to ensure the machinery and equipment operate safely and efficiently.
- Ability to work independently to make decisions under the direct supervision of a professional in the field.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
- Ability to direct clearly and concisely with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a mechanical technician in a related industry.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical designs, installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ability to solve problems by using theoretical knowledge in the field of discipline and critical thinking skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Bilingual ability in both spoken and written Spanish and English.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Must be able to work with all types of electrical equipment and tools.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
