AWS Data Architect Job Description

Saxon Global is seeking a highly skilled AWS Data Architect to join our team. As a key member of our cloud infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable and secure data architectures on the AWS cloud.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cloud Infrastructure Design: Create terraform scripts to provision resources in the AWS cloud, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Application Deployment: Perform app server, web server, and vendor application installation on EC2 instances, collaborating with the vendor's tech team to ensure seamless integration.
  • Database Management: Install and configure vendor databases in the AWS cloud, working closely with the networking team to ensure secure access controls.
  • Performance Optimization: Execute performance testing on the infrastructure and perform tuning as needed to ensure optimal performance.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of engineers, empowering them to make daily decisions and work closely with the Solution Architect on architectural decisions.
  • Technical Expertise: Bring AWS expertise to the team, presenting POV on data backup and recovery strategies, and staying up-to-date with the latest technology advances.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, engineering, or a relevant technical field.
  • Experience: Related academic exposure or work experience in data engineering, data analytics, data warehousing, database administration, data integration, or business intelligence.
  • Skills: Knowledge of SQL, basic database queries, Linux operations and development, DevOps methodologies, and continuous integration/continuous delivery.
  • Personal Qualities: Results-oriented, strong customer focus, ability to work within a team environment, and willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
