Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver personalized, family-focused case management services to children with epilepsy and their families, evaluating needs and coordinating suitable social services and resources.
  • Act as a representative for families, addressing daily self-management challenges, ensuring compliance with treatment plans, and facilitating educational accommodations in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Establish strong connections with clients, keeping them informed and engaged with the organization's offerings while providing tailored support to meet their unique needs.
  • Conduct outreach to educational institutions and deliver informative presentations and training on seizure management, epilepsy awareness, and self-care strategies at community gatherings, schools, and healthcare facilities.
  • Engage with local community-based organizations focused on intellectual and developmental disabilities to foster collaboration and resource sharing.
  • Work alongside healthcare professionals, educators, and community entities to enhance epilepsy awareness, promote dialogue, and ensure access to services for underserved populations.
  • Collaborate with educational systems and resource centers to provide support and resources for children with epilepsy, advocating for necessary accommodations and educational opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate data entry in the organization's database.
  • Assist in coordinating agency and departmental initiatives.
  • Participate in all organizational development activities.

  • Willingness to travel, possess a valid driver's license, and have access to an insured vehicle.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Experience in advocacy, community outreach, or a related field is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel are required.
