Overview

The Texas A&M University System is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sport Program Coordinator and Recreation Manager to join our team. This dynamic position plays a crucial role in advancing the university's mission of connecting, educating, and inspiring people to lifelong activity and wellbeing.

About the Position

This leadership role oversees the development, implementation, and management of innovative sport programs, including intramural sports and club sports. The ideal candidate will have a passion for recreation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee day-to-day operations of sport programs and the Cain Sports Complex, ensuring compliance with industry and safety standards.
  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, evaluate, manage payroll, and mentor all sport program staff.
  • Advise, mentor, and train club sport officers and leaders on member recruitment, opponent and field scheduling, club promotion, budget management, equipment management, risk management, and travel.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate policies, rules, and procedures to ensure safe, welcoming, and educational sport programs.
  • Manage budgets for intramural, club sports, and the Cain Sports Complex.
  • Promote and market sport programs and the Cain Sports Complex through various channels.
  • Instruct American Red Cross CPR/AED/FA courses and maintain certification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • One year of combined experience in sports program management in a collegiate, community, or private setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to multitask, work cooperatively with others, and possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • First Aid and CPR certified or obtain within 60 days.
