Job Summary:

This position is an entry-level opportunity to work in a dynamic and inclusive organization, UNC Health Care. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care in our ophthalmology department.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor clinic flow to ensure patients and physicians are in the proper areas.
Room patients for the physician, open Electronic Record, review data prior to physician examination to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Assist with scribing physician notes on patient examination at physician's direction using electronic medical record format.
Provide patient with appropriate educational materials and answer questions.
Administer topical medications as ordered by the physician.

Requirements:

No prior experience required.
No licensure or certification required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek. The work schedule is day shift, and the location is UNC Eye Carolina Crossing in Chapel Hill, NC.
