Job Summary

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Professor of Sociology to teach courses at the Middletown campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, creating engaging learning materials, and assessing student performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction: Instruct students in all Sociology courses, creating syllabi, course materials, and assignments to support course learning outcomes as defined by the Sociology Department and the State of Ohio.
  • Student Assessment and Progress: Ensure that students achieve course learning outcomes as defined in the syllabus, maintaining electronic records of student performance, progress, and attendance.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete, as directed, all start and end-of-semester responsibilities, including submission of no-show rosters and final grades.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree: A Master's degree in Sociology or a related field with 18 graduate credit hours in Sociology is required.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching Experience: Three years of teaching or industry experience is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Experience using online learning management systems (Blackboard) and a range of classroom/instructional technologies is desirable.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Experience working with students from diverse academic backgrounds and life experiences is highly valued.
