We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Swing Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Witham Family Hotels. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for leading the team and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation and Presentation: Prepare meals and food to meet the specifications of our guests in a timely manner.
- Kitchen Management: Properly measure kitchen ingredients and food portions, and ensure that kitchen staff adhere to set standards, procedures, and sanitation requirements.
- Inventory Management: Manage the kitchen inventory and ensure that supplies are fresh and of high quality.
- Food Safety and Sanitation: Ensure proper food temperatures when cooking and proper storage afterward, and keep the workstation and kitchen equipment clean, organized, and sanitized.
- Leadership and Teamwork: Take charge of kitchen opening, closing, and other side duties as directed by the Executive Chef, and perform duties as assigned.
- Culinary Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in varied kitchen positions, including food preparation, line cook, fry cook, and expediter.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to effectively manage the kitchen staff, motivate them, and assign duties fairly.
- Communication Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Point of Sale, and restaurant management software, and able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel, and guests.
- Physical Demands: This is a physically demanding job that requires extended periods of walking, standing, bending, lifting, twisting, and kneeling, and lifting of up to 65 lbs.
- Competitive Salary: A starting salary of $1200 per week.
