Position Summary: The Benefits Specialist plays a pivotal role in overseeing Elevanta's distinctive self-funded employee benefits program. This position is situated within a collaborative team environment, specifically in our benefits service center, which manages our intricate program. The Benefits Specialist engages frequently with employer groups involved in the program and is expected to have a solid understanding of employee benefits programs and relevant government regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily processing of benefit modifications
  • Facilitate the open enrollment process for the program
  • Administer COBRA compliance and management
  • Identify and propose enhancements to policies and procedures
  • Oversee the onboarding of new groups into the program
  • Coordinate data transfers with the ASO provider
  • Address and resolve claim discrepancies with the ASO provider
  • Prepare and distribute invoices to all franchisee members, ensuring accurate processing of enrollment changes and qualifying events
  • Investigate monthly billing discrepancies for members
  • Verify the accuracy of monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical records related to premiums, claims, and costs
  • Act as the primary liaison with franchisee members, addressing inquiries and resolving issues
  • Resolve administrative challenges with carrier representatives
  • Collaborate with HRIS providers to implement annual plan modifications
  • Maintain comprehensive records of history, data, correspondence, reports, and forms
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations regarding record keeping and retrieval methods
  • Stay informed on regulations related to the Affordable Care Act, COBRA, and the Department of Labor that may impact the program and its participants

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration or a related area

· Proficient in PC-based computer systems, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

· Excellent interpersonal skills and a solid understanding of company and departmental policies and procedures

Travel Requirements: This position requires minimal travel, if any.
