POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Laboratory Specialist operates with minimal oversight to execute intricate laboratory analyses on blood, bodily fluids, cells, and tissues. This includes standardized microscopic, chemical, and bacteriological examinations. All procedures are conducted in alignment with laboratory protocols and comply with regulations set forth by FDA, CAP, OSHA, CUA, and Joint Commission. The outcomes of these tests are crucial for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of various health conditions.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- An Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline is required.
- Must be eligible to take the ASCP Board of Review exam for Medical Laboratory Technician, American Society of Clinical Pathology (MLT-ASCP) Certification. MLT (ASCPCM) or AMT Certification must be achieved within 6 months of employment to maintain the position.
- In the absence of a degree, candidates may present alternative educational credentials or coursework in Medical Technology that qualifies them for the AMT or ASCP certification examination.
