Job Description:

Schedule - 4x 10

As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality MRI and X-ray examinations while ensuring the continuity of patient care and image exam workflow.


Essential Job Functions:

Below are the essential job functions, listed in order of percentage of time spent on each function from longest to shortest:

  • Perform all MRI examinations according to Vail Health protocols.

Perform all radiographic examinations according to Vail Health protocols.

Review each examination for technical accuracy, send completed examinations to radiologists, and communicate pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.

Identify each patient and review exam order for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis.

Maintain constructive collaborative communication with patients, patient's family, physicians, co-workers, and other members of the healthcare team to contribute to continuity of care.

Maintain established department policies and procedures, objectives, confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental standards, radiation protection standards, infection control standards, and universal precautions.

Maintain working knowledge and use of the Vail Health HIS and PACS computer systems to ensure quality patient documentation.

Monitor supply inventory and notify appropriate staff for ordering when stock is low.

Keep exam and dressing rooms stocked and neat.

Role model the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Must be HIPAA compliant.

Minimum Qualifications:

Below are the minimum qualifications required for this position:

  • Minimum 1 year previous MRI Tech experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare required.

American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) credentials: R.T.(R )(MR)(ARRT) required.

OR American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.


Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this position include:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye/hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and/or working irregular hours.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
