Radiologic Technologist Position at NurseStaffing

A radiologic technologist, commonly referred to as a radiographer, is responsible for performing medical imaging examinations utilizing x-ray technology and providing radiation therapy for various health conditions. They operate a range of imaging devices, including computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), to assist in patient diagnostics. The primary responsibility of the technologist is to follow physician orders regarding specific body areas that require assessment. Furthermore, radiographers are tasked with preparing patients for imaging procedures, ensuring proper positioning during scans, operating the imaging equipment, and minimizing radiation exposure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and document medical orders through various communication methods
  • Follow established protocols for conducting X-ray examinations, including equipment settings and patient positioning
  • Select appropriate radiation techniques for imaging procedures
  • Prepare necessary solutions for X-ray examinations
  • Monitor patients and imaging equipment during procedures, reporting any irregularities
  • Process X-ray films using standardized techniques
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the imaging room and with equipment
  • Assist patients throughout the imaging process, providing explanations and ensuring their comfort
Essential Qualifications:
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); CT certification is advantageous
  • Valid technologist license in the relevant state, if applicable
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Compliance with local laws regarding COVID-19 vaccination (unless exempt)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination
