Patient Authorization Specialist

The core responsibility of this role is to manage incoming calls from healthcare providers, both within and outside the clinic, to ensure the efficient processing of patients needing pre-certifications, referrals, RQI numbers, or any form of authorization from insurance entities. Key duties include communicating with medical staff from various practices via telephone to collect necessary patient details. This position reports to the Referral and Scheduling Supervisor or Clinic Supervisor/Manager.

Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office setting.
- At least 2 years of experience in customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft-based systems.
- 2 years of experience in a medical office with responsibilities related to scheduling, handling phone inquiries, prior pre-certification/pre-authorization, and familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
