The Emergency Restoration Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering urgent restoration and recovery services for both residential and commercial clients. This position may involve specialization in various areas such as water damage restoration, fire damage recovery, mold remediation, or carpet cleaning. The Specialist is expected to complete assigned tasks efficiently and uphold exceptional customer service standards throughout all projects.
Key Responsibilities
Restoration and Cleaning Services
- Conducts water/fire/smoke restoration, mold remediation, personal property cleaning, carpet care, and general cleaning as directed by the Crew Chief or Manager.
- Tasks may include water extraction, packing out contents, disposing of irreparable materials, light demolition, construction, deodorization, surface treatment, and general cleaning.
- Properly sets up and removes air movers and dehumidifiers while monitoring water loss situations.
- Ensures that all equipment, supplies, and tools are handled, maintained, and stored correctly, returning all items upon job completion.
- Records inventory of personal property received, cleaned, and returned to client locations.
- May be designated as a driver for company vehicles.
- Follows all safety protocols to ensure the safety of both employees and clients.
Customer Service Excellence
- Strives to meet and exceed client expectations while completing projects within designated timelines.
- Responds to client inquiries and addresses any concerns effectively.
- Maintains open communication with clients, providing updates on project status throughout the process.
- Escalates unresolved client issues or property damage to the Supervisor for prompt resolution.
Team Collaboration and Conduct
- Completes assigned tasks to contribute to project success and volunteers to assist colleagues as needed.
- Communicates effectively with team members, management, and clients.
- Treats all team members with respect and professionalism.
- Accurately processes timecards, Daily Time Logs, and other job-related documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintains punctuality for work and project assignments.
- Participates in on-call shifts for emergencies as scheduled.
- Represents ServiceMaster by Rice professionally both on-site and within the community.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
Training and Development
- Maintains up-to-date certifications to avoid lapses.
- Understands the proper use of cleaning products and equipment necessary for project completion.
- Engages in training opportunities to acquire new skills and knowledge.
- Applies new training effectively in work assignments.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Preferred knowledge in water and fire restoration, mold remediation, and cleaning techniques; certifications in these areas are advantageous.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Basic proficiency in Excel for inventory data entry.
- Ability to sketch physical spaces, take measurements, and calculate billable charges.
- Dependable and adaptable to meet scheduling needs, including emergency services outside of regular hours.
- Commitment to ongoing personal and professional growth.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements
This role is physically demanding. Candidates must be able to perform the following tasks with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Stand at heights of 12 feet using ladders or scaffolding.
- Climb stairs.
- Remain on feet on concrete surfaces for extended periods.
