About the Position:
The Long Island State Veterans Home is seeking a highly skilled Wound Care Nurse Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of skin integrity and wound care interventions, as well as providing education to staff, residents, and families on skin care protocols and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Wound Care Nurse to develop and implement skin integrity and wound care plans
• Educate staff, residents, and families on skin care protocols and procedures
• Conduct wound rounds on each unit and document findings
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of skin integrity and wound care concepts and management practices
• Participate in continuing education programs to stay current with best practices in skin integrity and wound care

Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Wound care nurse certification preferred
• 5 years' experience in Long Term Care or related field preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team required

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
