Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare side stations and complete assigned preparatory tasks.
  2. Provide prompt attention to all members and guests upon their arrival.
  3. Ensure the safety and comfort of children by seating them appropriately.
  4. Distribute food and beverage menus; respond to inquiries.
  5. Fill glasses with ice water and recommend menu selections.
  6. Accurately record account numbers and names for billing purposes.
  7. Serve food and beverages efficiently in a friendly manner, offering insights on daily specials and wine options.
  8. Communicate special cooking instructions to the kitchen staff.
  9. Assemble food on trays and gather items from various stations as needed.
  10. Serve meals, presenting dishes by course to each guest.
  11. Check back with guests to ensure satisfaction and replenish items as necessary.
  12. Clear soiled dishes and reset tables with appropriate utensils.
  13. Present dessert menus, recommend desserts, coffee, and after-dinner drinks.
  14. Verify the accuracy of prices, taxes, tips, and other charges on checks.
  15. Present the final bill to guests.
  16. Process member charges and credit card transactions following standard procedures.
  17. Maintain cleanliness in the dining area and bus stations.
  18. Clear and reset vacated tables promptly.
  19. Report any guest complaints to the supervisor immediately.
  20. Complete cleaning and closing tasks as assigned by management.
  21. Participate in pre-meal meetings as requested by the Dining Room Manager or Food and Beverage Manager.
  22. Submit signed tip declaration forms as required.
  23. Express gratitude to members and guests, inviting them to return.
  24. Adhere to local and state laws as well as club policies regarding the service of alcoholic beverages.
  25. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dining Room Manager or Food and Beverage Manager.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Completion of Grade 12 education. A minimum of two years of relevant wait service experience is preferred.

Skills and Knowledge:

Ability to greet and acknowledge members and guests effectively. Knowledgeable about the menu, buffet offerings, and wine selections. Capable of timing the service of each course appropriately. Familiarity with members' names and preferences. Understanding of wines and spirits. Ability to perform required duties during emergency situations.

Licenses and Certifications:

Food safety certification is required. Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverage certification is necessary.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand for extended periods, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, and reach. Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds. Continuous repetitive motions are expected. Work environment may be hot, humid, and noisy.
