Job SummaryAs a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality ultrasonic recordings of internal organs to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
- Prepare and position patients for examinations.
- Select and adjust equipment to ensure optimal diagnostic quality.
- Start and operate ultrasound equipment to produce images of internal organs.
- Monitor and record diagnostic data.
- Photograph and document images of organs.
- Key test data and patient information into computer systems.
- Orient new hires and perform other related duties as necessary.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate or equivalent required.
- Must demonstrate competence and perform specialties routinely.
- Cardiac: All ARDMS cardiac registries or CCI cardiac ultrasound registries will be recognized and awarded for advancement.
- Nuchal Translucency Certification Certificate within 3 months of hire, for MFM clinics.
