About the Job

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with the City of Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space department. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and reviewing the work of a crew of park maintenance workers and seasonal staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and review the work of a crew of park maintenance workers and seasonal staff
  • Perform semi-skilled work in the care and maintenance of sports facilities and recreation areas
  • Perform semi-skilled maintenance and repair to park facilities
  • Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power landscaping tools and equipment
  • Respond to questions and complaints from the public
Requirements
  • Equivalent to High School graduation or GED
  • Three (3) years of landscaping maintenance or sports field management experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • OSHA 30 Certification
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions. The ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy equipment and materials is required.
