Role Summary

The Material Handler collaborates with the Supervisor to oversee daily activities on the production floor, ensuring a clean and organized workspace. This role involves interpreting work instructions and following verbal directives to determine the materials or containers that need to be moved. The Material Handler operates industrial forklifts equipped with lifting devices to efficiently handle products and materials, executing the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inventory assessments on the production floor and supply workstations with necessary materials.
  • Efficiently load and unload materials as required.
  • Deliver appropriate containers to work areas without interrupting production flow.
  • Position finished products in designated areas.
  • Report any machinery issues to the supervising manager.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain good attendance.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Meet productivity goals while working at a fast pace.
  • Work harmoniously with colleagues and follow instructions diligently.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: 1+ year of experience in the automotive sector.
  • Basic skills in mathematics, reading, and comprehension.
  • Ability to complete Forklift Training and obtain a license (training provided).
  • Competence in safely operating forklifts and other machinery in the Materials Department.
  • Capability to operate an overhead crane.
  • Physical strength to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Proficient in driving, standing, reaching, twisting, bending, and walking.
  • Experience operating forklifts and related machinery in a manufacturing environment.
