SalaryThe salary for this position is estimated to be between $42,030 and $78,330 per year, based on a hourly rate of $42.03 to $78.33. This figure is calculated based on the national average salary for adjunct instructors in the United States.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking an equity-minded colleague to join our Math and Engineering Department as an adjunct instructor. The ideal candidate will be able to create a welcoming and supportive learning environment, using evidence-based practices to support the development of socioeconomically, racially, and linguistically diverse students. The instructor will also be responsible for teaching mathematics courses, including precalculus, calculus, statistics, linear algebra, and differential equations.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, the candidate must have a master's degree in mathematics, statistics, or a related field, with a minimum of 30 graduate credits in mathematics from an accredited institution. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of instructional techniques that promote student engagement and success in the first two years of collegiate mathematics. Additionally, the candidate should have a teaching philosophy that is student-centered and focused on learning, with a demonstrated interest in teaching diverse students at a community college.
