DoSomething is a well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young individuals to create meaningful change. Our initiatives have led to significant achievements, including the donation of over 1 million jeans to homeless youth, mobilizing thousands of young activists to advocate for social justice, and facilitating voter registration for over 415,000 young people.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a pivotal member of the Marketing & Communications team, the Lead Marketing Strategist will play a crucial role in enhancing our outreach and engagement with youth. This position requires a blend of creativity and analytical thinking to develop innovative marketing strategies that resonate with our audience and elevate the DoSomething brand.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Management & Strategy (40%)

  • Conceive and oversee the execution of comprehensive marketing campaigns across multiple channels, fostering collaboration with team members.
  • Assist in crafting creative briefs and lead the production of essential marketing materials, including print and digital assets.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Communications Associate to design and implement email and SMS outreach campaigns, analyzing their effectiveness for continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain internal systems to track performance metrics, ensuring alignment with marketing objectives.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion in marketing strategies and messaging.
  • Research and nurture partnerships to enhance brand visibility and program outreach.

Brand Partnerships and Talent Management (40%)

  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Marketing to refine partnership marketing strategies that resonate with younger demographics.
  • Act as a liaison for brand experience initiatives, coordinating with various stakeholders for successful event execution.
  • Engage with partners and influencers to develop collaborative marketing materials and brand assets.
  • Foster relationships with celebrities and influencers to serve as advocates for our initiatives.

Scholarship Program Management (20%)

  • Oversee the marketing budget and campaigns for our scholarship program, ensuring effective outreach to diverse audiences.
  • Evaluate the performance of scholarship marketing partners and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate with the Senior Member Engagement Associate for the selection and management of scholarship recipients.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, particularly in digital strategy and execution.
  • Experience in nonprofit or creative agency settings is advantageous, especially with campaigns targeting youth.
  • Proficient in analytics tools and data interpretation to inform marketing strategies.
  • Strong creative vision with the ability to translate concepts into actionable plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
