ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Equity Portfolio Analyst serves as a key expert for the transparent Equity ETF offerings of T. Rowe Price and acts as a representative of these investment portfolios throughout the organization. The primary responsibility of the Senior Analyst is to conduct thorough evaluations of investment portfolios and produce comprehensive institutional-level portfolio assessments, communications, and materials to inform critical stakeholders. This role optimally utilizes the time of both the portfolio manager and investment analyst while ensuring the consistency, precision, and integrity of investment communications across various regions, distribution channels, and audiences. The analysis and materials created by the Senior Analyst support the firm’s mission to deliver exceptional client service and to attract and retain assets in these newly introduced products. The Senior Analyst must continuously evolve and adapt to meet shifting demands and a diverse array of requests for assistance as market conditions, strategy lifecycles, and performance trends change over time. The individual in this role is expected to excel in independent work, collaborate with essential professionals, and lead projects to successful completion. This position is accountable for representing the investment divisions on project teams and working effectively with various groups across the enterprise. As a senior member of the team, the individual is anticipated to take on a leadership role by proactively enhancing the group's analytical methodologies, improving information flow, and spearheading group initiatives.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Research & Analysis

• Perform detailed analysis on assigned investment strategies while considering financial market conditions, competitor evaluations, asset class characteristics, portfolio construction, and positioning to support the portfolio manager or specialist. Research conducted by the Senior Analyst will often directly assist marketing, sales, and client service initiatives.

• Generate tailored analyses to preempt client concerns or to address client inquiries in a timely manner on a global scale.

• Maintain the necessary knowledge to serve as a subject matter expert on markets, portfolios, portfolio manager strategies and positioning, benchmarks, and competitors. This expertise is utilized to support existing strategies and may also bolster new product initiatives.

• Develop high-quality and nuanced investment communications to effectively convey and position the results of analyses and inform key stakeholders. Messages are tailored appropriately for specific audiences and regions.

• Create and present quarterly strategy updates to inform the enterprise of investment outcomes and perspectives on assigned strategies.

• Maintain proficiency in multiple investment data applications to extract relevant investment data and conduct analyses.

Provide Leverage to Other Investment Professionals

• Represent the portfolio manager in addressing associate and client inquiries, including ad hoc and follow-up questions from prospects, clients, and consultants.

• Act as a credible investment resource for content creation, including custom presentations, exhibits, and analyses (e.g., mini kits, capital market decks, matrices, new product materials) utilized by investment staff, ETF specialists, and other business units, ensuring content is appropriately tailored to the relevant audience and region.

• Represent the investment staff's viewpoint on sales and marketing materials; this may include development, review, and/or approval responsibilities.

• Potentially participate in and/or lead client meetings and investment reviews, depending on business requirements.

Franchise & Asset Class Support

• Maintain essential relationships to navigate a complex organizational structure and evolving regulatory landscape to address client needs.

• Contribute to an informed salesforce by providing general education, onboarding, one-on-one coaching, and facilitating quarterly meetings with distribution associates. Messages are often tailored to the specific business unit and region.

• Educate and train diverse teams within T. Rowe Price on capital markets, investments, economics, asset classes, and investment portfolios. Messages are often tailored to the specific business unit and region.

• Provide franchise support on RFPs and written commentaries on assigned strategy coverage.

• Support the entire sales cycle (obtaining consultant ratings, prospecting, preparing for sales meetings, real-time sales, finals, and client service follow-ups, as well as client retention inquiries).

• Help enhance and maintain brand awareness globally by collaborating with marketing, PR, distribution, and other enterprise groups.

• Mentor new and junior team members.

Typical Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
  • 8+ years of total relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of investment experience
  • CFA and/or Master's degree
  • Expertise in asset classes
  • Significant experience with institutional and/or intermediary investors
  • Exceptional analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently on analyses and communications
  • Ability to navigate the organization and build relationships
  • Ability to lead and drive analytical projects to successful outcomes

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for remote work up to two days a week.
