We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Digestive Diseases at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. As a key member of our gastroenterology and hepatology team, you will provide comprehensive, continuous, and personalized patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform thorough histories and physical examinations for complex, acute, critical, and chronically ill patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging studies and laboratory results.
- Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities, ensuring evidence-based practice.
- Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and make referrals when necessary.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
- Participate in research and development projects, contributing to the advancement of gastroenterology and hepatology.
- Engage in education and training of nurse practitioners, students, and medical professionals.
To be considered for this role, you must possess a Master's degree in nursing or a related field, with a strong background in gastroenterology and hepatology. You should also have a minimum of three years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care. Active licensure and certification in Ohio are required, as well as a strong commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
