Austin, Texas, United States Integral Care Full time

Job Number:

Position Overview: Integral Care is expanding its mental health services to provide round-the-clock support for the community, and we are seeking dedicated professionals to assist in achieving our mission of delivering crisis intervention 24/7.

Our facility operates as a walk-in clinic, offering immediate assistance to individuals facing mental health emergencies. Clients have the opportunity to engage with counselors, explore safety measures, consult with prescribers regarding potential medication options, and receive information about additional supportive programs. Those experiencing psychiatric crises are entitled to prompt evaluations and assessments upon arrival. We focus on delivering crisis stabilization support to residents of Travis County who are in acute psychiatric distress or at risk of significant deterioration. Our aim is to facilitate necessary treatment within the community, ultimately reducing the need for inpatient hospitalizations, legal issues, and the associated financial burdens on the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Function as a psychiatrist within a community mental health framework, delivering medical services in accordance with professional standards and employer quality criteria.
  • Evaluate and document signs of psychopathology, when applicable, and formulate diagnostic conclusions.
  • Assess client needs and explore options to meet case requirements.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to clients effectively.
  • Determine the urgency of treatment initiation, including medication, laboratory tests, hospitalization, or detox programs, ensuring that informed consent for medication is obtained and documented.
  • Implement treatment plans with client consent, maintaining accurate records of interactions and therapeutic progress.
  • Collaborate with therapists and other medical professionals to enhance the quality of clinical care provided to all clients.

Regular attendance is a fundamental requirement for this role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned, and a flexible work schedule may be necessary.

Integral Care is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment that embraces diversity in all its forms. We define diversity broadly, encompassing race, ethnicity, abilities (both mental and physical), gender, gender identity, immigrant status, language, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, veteran status, age, and other identities.

Our employees are dedicated to maintaining a trauma-sensitive workplace, employing trauma-informed practices, and creating a welcoming environment for all.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Doctorate degree in Psychiatry.

Licensure:

  • Must be licensed to practice medicine in Texas.
  • Current DEA registration required.
  • Board certification in Psychiatry is mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary.

Experience:

  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Work Schedule: Hours and days may vary.

Compensation: $122.66 per hour.

Why Choose Integral Care: With over 50 years of service to the residents of Travis County, Integral Care is the largest provider of behavioral health services in the area. We are dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities.

By becoming part of our organization, you will engage in meaningful work alongside compassionate colleagues. Together, we can make a significant impact on the quality of life for those we serve.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • 403(b) retirement savings plan.
  • Discounted gym membership.
  • Mileage reimbursement.

Integral Care is committed to maintaining a diverse workforce and encourages applications from individuals with experience working with underserved populations, including various ethnic and LGBTQIA+ communities.

All qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, sex, or age.

For specific roles, additional compensation may be available for bilingual candidates proficient in English and one of the following languages: Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, or Burmese.
