Aquatic Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aquatic Safety Specialist to join our team at the City of Casper, WY. As an Aquatic Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our guests at our aquatic facilities by anticipating, recognizing, responding to, and managing potentially dangerous situations, including emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patrol the pool area to observe activities and ensure participant safety and compliance with facility rules.
  • Provide general customer service and communicate with the public regarding fees, policies, rules, and general information about the facility or event.
  • Instruct swim and water safety programs in accordance with American Red Cross standards.
  • Maintain appropriate records associated with the aquatic facility.
  • Perform tasks involved in the general operation of the aquatic facility, including physical tasks and basic mechanical tasks.
  • Enforce facility and public health rules and regulations.
  • Represent the City of Casper by responding to the public, citizens, employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
Requirements:
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification (preferred).
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Ability to swim 200 yards without stopping, tread water for two minutes without using arms, and retrieve a diving brick during a timed test.
