Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lifeguard to provide exceptional customer service and ensure the safety of our aquatic facility patrons. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for anticipating, recognizing, and responding to potential hazards and emergencies, while also instructing swim and water safety programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol the pool area to observe activities and ensure participant safety and compliance with facility rules.
  • Provide general customer service and communicate with the public regarding fees, policies, and general information about the facility or event.
  • Instruct swim and water safety programs in accordance with American Red Cross standards.
  • Maintain accurate records associated with the aquatic facility.
  • Perform tasks involved in the general operation of the aquatic facility, including physical tasks and basic mechanical tasks.
  • Enforce facility and public health rules and regulations.
  • Represent the City of Casper by responding to the public, citizens, employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
Requirements
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification (preferred).
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Ability to swim 200 yards without stopping, tread water for two minutes without using arms, and retrieve a diving brick during a timed test.
