Overview:

The role involves calculating, verifying, processing, and reconciling financial transactions related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, and various other accounting activities. The focus is on ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all transactions in accordance with established accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external clients by providing accurate information, researching, and resolving issues promptly.
* Maintain high standards of customer service by addressing inquiries from customers and employees with courtesy and efficiency.
* Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures while suggesting improvements to management as necessary.
* Engage in cross-functional teams to identify and implement process enhancements.
* Participate in all internal training and development opportunities.
* Assist with special projects as needed.
* Cross-train in various departments.
* Update vendor, customer, and employee information; enter invoices, purchase orders, cash receipts, accounts receivable, recurring journal entries, travel expenses, and fixed assets into the financial software system.
* Accurately code and input transactions into the financial system, and prepare documentation to rectify errors.
* Ensure financial data is complete, accurate, and compliant with federal, state, and Tribal accounting policies and procedures.
* Actively participate in team meetings.
* Verify petty cash, cash on hand, and physical inventory balances.
* Facilitate scheduled and on-demand payments and check runs for Payroll and Accounts Payable.
* Conduct general accounting processes to prepare financial documents, records, and reports; manage bank deposits; and complete sub-system closings.
* Ensure financial information is thorough, precise, and compliant with generally accepted accounting principles, as well as federal, state, and tribal regulations.
* Assist in the implementation and testing of upgrades to financial systems and accounting software.
* Prepare and distribute reports to business units, management, and external agencies as required.

Required Skills:

Education Requirements:

Essential:
* Associate's Degree in Accounting or a closely related field
* A combination of experience and education may be considered

Credentials:

Essential:
* Valid Driver's License and Personal Vehicle
* Insurance Required
Nonessential:
* Driver Safety Training

Credential equivalent experience:
Essential:
* Must be authorized to operate a personal vehicle under the Oneida Nation's Vehicle Driver Certification and Fleet Management Law prior to the start date. Maintaining driver's eligibility is a condition of employment.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2-step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
