Job Summary

As an Automotive Technician at Wilkinson Cadillac Chevrolet Buick GMC, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional preventive maintenance services to our customers. Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate vehicle needs and perform maintenance to ensure their vehicles are serviced and safe on the road.

Responsibilities
  • Document and perform work as outlined on repair orders, adhering to dealership and factory standards.
  • Drain oil from the crankcase and refill with the required amount of oil, replacing oil and air filters as necessary.
  • Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replace or replenish as needed.
  • Check tire pressure and add air if necessary.
  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Keep the shop area neat and clean.
  • Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
  • Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of any additional services needed.
  • Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
  • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications
  • Eagerness to improve and learn new skills.
  • Some experience required in the automotive industry.
  • Strong physical dexterity for working with tools.
  • Ability to collaborate well with others in a team setting.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Positive, friendly attitude, and a customer service mentality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn new technology, repair, and service procedures and specifications.
  • Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
