About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at Wellpath. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing mental health services to patients within our facility, working under the supervision of a licensed Mental Health Professional.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular mental health checks and rounds with patients under the direction of a licensed Mental Health Professional in accordance with relevant professional organizations and state guidelines.
  • Provide psycho-social-educational programming and activities for groups and individuals to improve the social, cognitive, problem-solving, and daily living skills of incarcerated patients.
  • Triage mental health concerns of incarcerated patients and provide consultation services as assigned.
  • Participate in release continuity of care planning for patients, train staff in human behavior and mental health issues, and maintain patient confidentiality while interrelating effectively with patients, staff, and outside support agencies.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a mental health/social science field from an accredited college or university.
  • Coursework and professional experience that indicates knowledge of working in a correctional setting, mental health interventions, and identification of mental health issues, crisis intervention, and mental health consultation.
  • Maintain CPR certification and any other certifications required by contract.
