San Diego State University is seeking a highly qualified Director of Well-being and Health Promotion to lead our efforts in promoting student health and wellness. As a key member of our student services team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that promote healthy behaviors, prevent substance abuse, and support student success.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement health promotion and education programs for students, including workshops, events, and online resources.
- Collaborate with campus partners to integrate health promotion into academic and co-curricular programs.
- Provide leadership and supervision to health education staff and student employees.
- Develop and manage budgets for health promotion programs and services.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices in health promotion and education, and apply this knowledge to inform program development and implementation.
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as public health, health education, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in health promotion and education, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- 3 years of experience working in a college or university setting.
- Knowledge of or ability to understand the role and functioning of student services and academic affairs.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Experience supervising students and professional staff.
- Experience writing grant applications.
