Sr Associate, Material Process Engineer (Chemistry Lab)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Associate, Material Process Engineer to join our team at L3Harris. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of duties in the mechanical, physics, and chemistry areas, including constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, adjusting, testing, diagnosing, and maintaining laboratory test instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle, process, and mix chemicals in a laboratory setting.
- Sample and test raw materials, propellants, and explosives.
- Prepare and collect raw test data.
- Perform mathematical calculations.
- Clean, assemble and dismantle test hardware, equipment, and apparatus.
- Perform laboratory support work such as instrument calibration, cleaning, inventory, inspections, and material handling.
- Generate test reports, save test data, and report test data.
- Review and submit lab documentation for changes including test and calibration procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior chemical engineering experience.
- Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior chemical engineering experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior chemical engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Practical knowledge of a chemistry lab.
- Knowledge of testing explosive and energetic materials a plus.
