About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. As a technical specialist and mentor, you will lead a team to perform the design and analysis of structural elements and systems for various project types, including manufacturing, distribution, data centers, schools, medical facilities, adaptive reuse, renovations, and sign structures. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Interacting with clients, architects, and contractors to review structural documentation and supervise/mentor junior staff.
  • Oversight of design calculations, preparation of construction documents, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, site reviews, and RFI responses.
  • Coordinating information across all disciplines to ensure deliverables meet client expectations and Bennett & Pless quality levels.
  • Performing QA/QC of work performed by others.
  • Mentoring and providing oversight to the engineering team, responsible for the learning, professional development, and growth of the assigned team, as well as training and career development.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a Master's degree preferred.
  • An active Professional Engineer license.
  • At least 15 years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Experience with industry-standard software, such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP, Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, EnerCalc, Adapt, Tekla, Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Tedda, etc.
  • Project management experience/ability is required.
  • Structural design experience utilizing different construction materials and structural systems, including steel, concrete, and masonry design in low to mid-rise structures.
  • Working knowledge of Revit is preferred.
  • Client management experience is preferred.
