Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Patient Care Supervisor, the Clinical Assistant - Patient Transporter is responsible for the safe transportation of patients and participates in total direct patient care when needed. This role requires the ability to work therapeutically in a community of emotionally and/or chemically dependent patients.

Primary responsibilities include transporting patients, patient belongings, and assisting with basic patient care as needed. Observing patients and maintaining patient safety, assisting with activities of daily living, and meeting team objectives are also key responsibilities.

The Clinical Assistant must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating good communication and customer service skills. A valid driver's license and certification in Basic Life Support are required upon hire.

Performance Expectations:

  • Demonstrate the ability to follow through on requests for transports and other tasks as assigned
  • Demonstrate the ability to assist patients, family members, and visitors
  • Demonstrate the ability to tolerate physically demanding tasks and wide ranges in temperature changes
  • Demonstrate the willingness and ability to actively participate in helping achieve the objectives of the department

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Customer service skills and transportation experience preferred

Work Experience:

  • One year experience in a healthcare setting desirable
