Infection Prevention Specialist

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Infection Preventionist IV to join our team. As a key member of our infection prevention and control program, you will play a critical role in implementing and maintaining effective infection prevention and control measures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership and Collaboration: Promote a culture of safety and quality by leading by example, providing guidance and support to colleagues, and fostering a collaborative environment that encourages open communication and teamwork.
- Infection Prevention and Control: Develop and implement infection prevention and control policies, procedures, and protocols to prevent and control the spread of infections, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Epidemiology and Surveillance: Conduct surveillance and investigations to identify and analyze infection control problems, disease outbreaks, exposure, epidemics, and pandemics, and provide data-driven insights to inform infection prevention and control strategies.
- Education and Training: Design and deliver education and training programs to promote infection prevention and control best practices among healthcare staff, and provide guidance and support to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Performance Improvement: Collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement strategies to address these areas, and monitor progress and outcomes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to infection prevention and control, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing regulations and standards.
- Education: Master's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Microbiology, or related field, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Microbiology, or related field with relevant experience.
- Experience: Minimum one year of experience in infection prevention, clinical quality management, or a directly related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification: Infection Control Certificate within 24 months of hire.
