About the Role

Amergis is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered/Certified Behavior Technician to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing educational and behavioral services to children and adults with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement behavior management techniques, including prevention, intervention, and consequence strategies, to support individuals with special needs.
  • Provide crisis intervention and review behavior intervention plans to ensure effective implementation.
  • Conduct ABA-specific therapeutic services, such as Pivotal Response Training, Verbal Behavior Training, and Discrete Trial Training, under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Assist in facilitating academic instruction and support the development of independent daily living skills, including self-care activities.
  • Document session data accurately and efficiently, and collect, interpret, and report on behavioral and academic data.
  • Strictly adhere to confidentiality requirements and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
Requirements
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification and/or State Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) license, as applicable.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in behavioral studies or a related field preferred.
  • Two years of relevant experience preferred, with one year of pediatric experience preferred.
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice and participation in Amergis' Competency program, as applicable.
  • Current CPR certification, TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, and current Health certificate, as required by contract or state regulation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, co-workers, clients, and other stakeholders, with proficiency in the English language required.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to maintain accurate records and data.
