Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of unionized production personnel dedicated to crafting top-tier locomotives and components.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and foster a secure working environment.
- Supervise daily operations, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Enhance customer satisfaction by focusing on product reliability and quality.
- Develop and implement production plans that align with customer demands and resource availability.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and productivity.
- Facilitate effective communication within the team and across departments to address operational challenges.
- Oversee time and attendance management for all team members.
Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
- A bachelor's degree or a technical degree is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address production challenges.
- Proficiency in basic mathematics and the ability to utilize measuring instruments.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- Familiarity with production control systems and lean manufacturing principles.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Proven ability to motivate and influence team members effectively.
Physical Requirements
This position necessitates the ability to stand for extended periods and navigate throughout the manufacturing environment. Candidates must be capable of communicating effectively, operating machinery, and handling materials safely. Personal protective equipment will be provided to ensure safety during production activities.
