Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Workplace Wellness Specialist. This part-time, contracted position requires a confident and skilled individual to develop collaborative relationships with onsite teams, identify safety issues, and determine corrective priorities. The successful candidate will provide one-on-one and team training, workstation assessments, body mechanics coaching, and self-care technique training, as well as recommendations for process improvements and equipment adjustments.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid license or certification in a relevant field, such as athletic training, physical therapy, or occupational therapy.
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and/or industrial ergonomics.
  • Education and experience in movement or exercise science, kinesiology, or sports training/coaching.
  • Strong observation and report writing skills, with excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient technical skills, including basic computer skills, phone apps, email, and documentation in Word.
  • Active liability insurance and up-to-date vaccinations, including Covid vaccination.
  • Bilingual-Spanish speaking is required.

Responsibilities:
As a Workplace Wellness Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Workstation analysis and ergonomic assessments.
  • Biomechanical training, coaching, and monitoring for improvement.
  • Group trainings and collaboration with site safety and management personnel.
  • Developing and conducting pre-shift/post-lunch conditioning exercises based on Instinctive Movement System exercises.
  • Conducting pre-shift/post-lunch conditioning and mobility sessions.
  • Addressing specific departmental concerns through training and coaching.

Location: Kansas City, KS

Training: 1-2 day session

Start Date: Immediate

Hours: 5 hours/week (split over 2 days)

Availability: Monday-Thursday, morning/afternoon available
