Lead the Way in Affordable Housing

Aurora Housing Authority seeks an experienced professional to lead our Development Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and supervising daily activities to ensure efficient operations and meet established goals.

About the Role

This senior-level position requires a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in finance or management, with at least 3 years in a lead role. You will possess expert knowledge of housing development, finance, and project management, as well as strong accounting skills.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement agency policies and guidelines, ensuring compliance in Development.
  • Provide technical leadership, counsel staff, and respond to inquiries on program issues and concerns.
  • Coordinate housing development activities with internal departments for efficient operations.
  • Identify real estate opportunities supporting agency goals and objectives.
  • Acquire, develop, and preserve properties through rehabilitation or new construction.
  • Analyze financial data, develop operating pro-formas, and evaluate long-term plans for property holding or disposal.
  • Communicate regularly with the Deputy Director, Finance, and oversee RFQs, RFPs, and consultant services.
  • Manage multiple housing projects in various development phases.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Four-year degree and 5+ years of experience in finance or management.
  • Expert knowledge of housing development, finance, and project management.
  • Solid public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
Benefits

Aurora Housing Authority offers a competitive salary range of $181,000 - $186,000, depending on experience, along with outstanding benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and robust holiday, vacation, and sick leave policies.
