Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Adjunct Life Sciences and Agriculture Librarian to join our team at the University of New Hampshire. As a part-time temporary librarian, you will provide subject-specific information literacy instruction to the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture community, as well as other colleges as needed. This role is ideal for a graduate student pursuing an MLS or a professional looking for practical experience in an academic library setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide information literacy instruction to students in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture and other colleges as needed

• Develop and deliver instruction sessions on research skills and library resources

• Assist students with research projects and provide individual consultations

• Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate library services into curriculum

• Stay up-to-date with new technologies and trends in academic librarianship

Requirements

• ALA-accredited Master's degree or international equivalent in library or information science, or current graduate student with at least 15 completed credits in an ALA-accredited program

• Knowledge of reference resources and online databases

• Ability to effectively engage students in the classroom

• Understanding of the delivery of library services

• Ability to work both independently and with others

• Demonstrated multicultural competence and contribution to a work environment that affirms its commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an academic library

• Ability to operate with a high level of initiative

• Interest in all aspects of academic librarianship and demonstrated flexibility in the work environment
